PROJECT TYPE
   International Design Competition, Arquitectum 2008
PERIOD
   Jul.2008 - Aug.2008

London is a city having various color.
River Thames includes many historical, cultural layers. But the one has missed, the NETWORKS.
So we suggest EYE CONTACT that could connect all surrounding contexts.

We imagine 16m x 16m area small Red-box which is floating on the Thames.
This box, which has 2 stories height, would be organized landscapes of the Thames like Double-decker organizing landscapes of the London city. This simple box can be transformed into various heights. By this character, it can be touch with many various height structures in Thames.

It could combine with objects in Thames and become a part of the surrounding programs.

The Eye Contact
The public deck, installed on the roof, could be crowded with people. Moreover, inside actions could be expressed to the outside through the image, co-related with the connecting object, that projected by a LED screen installed on the outer wall. In this way, the box could communicate with the context of the city, and naturally, it can be a part of London shoreline.
Its various heights maximize the utility of its Grand Hall. Various sizes and many kinds of art works could be installed. Sometimes some plays and conferences could be held the space.
While the box goes round the various cultural things in London, the urban and cultural contexts can be EYE CONTACT.
